A brief history
Wicked Rebirth is the reincarnation of Dark Angel Designs which passed on in late 2007 when our lives were upturned by a series of events that left us nearly homeless as a result of unreliable and incompetent builders and contractors. I was four months pregnant and unable to carry on the business. Once our son was almost two and our housing situation had been resolved in 2009, I wanted to start it back up. Unfortunately, I hadn't been paying attention to my emails and my DarkAngelDesigns.com domain expired and someone else registered it. So, we moved on... into a Wicked Rebirth.
In Mid 2010 we relocated from sunny South Florida to Upstate New York. Why? Because we're crazy. Actually my husband has family up here and we were tired of the heat and hurricanes in Florida so we packed up and moved (pregnant again).
So it is now late 2011, we have been in Ticonderoga, NY for over a year and we love it. My husband works for the school district and, reluctantly, for Wicked Rebirth when we have a show to pack the truck up for. My oldest daughter,15, just started high school (damn I feel old), my son is three and a half and my baby girl is eight months old. Time flies!!
The name Dark Angel came from my clubbing days... I had jet black hair at the time. My light hazel eyes glow under black-light (from what I've been told). I wore Vampyre Fangs and would dance the night away. My favorite song to dance to was "Send Me an Angel" by Real Life (cheesy I know). One night back in 1998, someone made a lame attempt to pick me up by asking me if I would be his Dark Angel. He had obviously seen "Interview with a Vampire" one too many times, but, the name stuck.
Dark Angel Designs was a small home based business specializing in Renaissance, Medieval, Gothic, Belly Dancing and Steampunk (before that was actually a real thing) jewelry and clothing. Most of our sales were through eBay and friends of friends. Unlike Wicked Rebirth, Dark Angel Designs was mainly a reseller of jewelry. Unsatisfied with the quality and variety that I was able to purchase, I decided to start making my own.
